EatSleep Media - More Than Just a Production Company
A unique tie up saw us harness the power of Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez in order to get more grassroots coaches signed up to the Football Association of Wales Trust’s online course, the Football Leaders Award.
To do this we used our baby, Welsh Football Fans in order to reach an engaged audience.
As a quick bit of background, Welsh Football Fans was our original, the place it all started for EatSleep Media, although back in 2015 it was known as EatSleepFootyRepeat.
WFF has a pretty large voice on social media with Facebook being the biggest beast.
49k followers, monthly reach peaking at 2-million during this autumn’s international season and engagement heading towards 1-million.
During November’s international window that engagement was put to the test.
The FAW Trust wanted to get more coaches signed up to its online course, the Football Leaders Award.
So, we jumped on a zoom call with Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez, who started his coaching career by taking the FAW course, to discuss his coaching journey and find out what is the X factor that’s brought through the likes of Patrick Vieira and Mikel Arteta.
A punchy 1-min piece of content, with a strong call to action, and a little spend to get it over the Facebook analytics produced 74k reach, 26k views and 6k link clicks. Of those link clicks there were 62 purchases of the Football Leaders Award during the week of the promotion.
That meant the FAW Trust made a tidy profit over and above their outlay on the video in the first place.
Pretty decent for a trial run, and something we’ll look to recreate when the FAW’s Coaching Conference returns in the new year and we can actually get interviews done in person rather than interview remotely.
But, what this does is show the power of that engaged and authentic relationship between Welsh Football Fans and fans of Welsh football.
The same relationship which has seen Pure Vans & Valley Carpets continue their ongoing sponsorship of the page.
If you’d like to be able to speak directly to this audience then do get in touch in the first instance with Daniel Harris.
